FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about visiting Owa Vida — from booking and locations to what each service feels like.

General

Are all Owa Vida locations the same company?

Yes. Every Owa Vida location is part of the same wellness center — one ownership, one clinical standard, and one shared patient record. Our satellite clinics offer our most-requested services, while the flagship offers the complete menu including advanced programs. You can visit any location and your care plan follows you.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is needed for most services. You can book directly online or by phone. For ketamine therapy and hormone optimization, we'll conduct a medical screening as part of your first visit.

Do you accept insurance?

Coverage varies by service and provider. Chiropractic care is often partially covered; many of our aesthetic and regenerative services are self-pay. Our front desk can help you understand your options before you book.

Can I combine multiple services in one visit?

Absolutely — that's the benefit of an integrative center. Many patients pair massage with chiropractic, or red light therapy with an IV drip. Let us know your goals and we'll build an efficient visit.

How do I choose the right service?

If you're unsure, book a wellness consultation. We'll review your goals and recommend a personalized plan from our full service menu.

What is your cancellation policy?

We kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule or cancel, so we can offer the slot to another patient. Late cancellations may incur a fee.

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes — Owa Vida gift cards make a thoughtful gift and can be used for any service at any location. Contact us to purchase one.

By service

Chiropractic Care

Is chiropractic adjustment painful?

Most patients feel immediate relief. Adjustments may cause a brief, mild pressure or a popping sensation, but they should not be painful. We always adjust to your comfort level.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on your condition and goals. Acute issues may resolve in a few visits, while corrective care plans typically span several weeks. We'll give you a clear timeline after your assessment.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed. You can book directly with our chiropractic team at any Owa Vida location.

Therapeutic Massage

What types of massage do you offer?

Swedish, deep tissue, sports, trigger point, and prenatal massage. Your therapist will recommend the best approach based on your needs.

How long are sessions?

We offer 30, 60, and 90-minute sessions. Sixty minutes is our most popular choice for full-body treatment.

Should I book massage alongside chiropractic?

Absolutely. Massage and chiropractic care complement each other beautifully — soft tissue work before an adjustment often improves results.

Acupuncture

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most patients feel little to no discomfort. The needles are extremely fine — much thinner than a medical needle. You may feel a brief tingling or dull ache, then deep relaxation.

How many treatments will I need?

Chronic conditions often need 6–10 sessions for lasting change, while acute issues may respond in fewer. We'll build a plan tailored to you.

Is acupuncture safe?

Yes. We use only sterile, single-use needles and follow strict clinical protocols. Our practitioners are fully licensed and experienced.

Lymphatic Drainage

How is this different from a regular massage?

Lymphatic drainage uses very light, precise pressure and slow rhythmic strokes to move lymph fluid — it's gentler and more targeted than traditional massage.

Is it good after surgery or cosmetic procedures?

Yes, it's one of the most effective ways to reduce post-procedure swelling and speed recovery. We'll coordinate with your surgeon's timeline.

How often should I come?

For detox or maintenance, monthly sessions work well. Post-procedure recovery may require a short series of closer-together visits.

Body Contouring

Is body contouring a weight-loss treatment?

No. It's designed for contouring and reducing localized fat in people near their target weight — not for significant weight loss.

When will I see results?

Many see changes within a few weeks, with full results developing over 8–12 weeks as your body naturally processes the treated fat.

Is there any downtime?

Typically none. Most patients return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Esthetics: Botox, Fillers, PRP & ACTX

What's the difference between Botox and fillers?

Botox relaxes the muscles that cause wrinkles, ideal for lines of motion. Fillers restore volume and contour to areas like cheeks, lips, and nasolabial folds. Many patients benefit from both.

What is PRP and ACTX?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) uses your own blood's growth factors to rejuvenate skin and hair. ACTX is an advanced cellular therapy that builds on PRP for deeper regenerative effects.

Will I look overdone?

Our philosophy is natural enhancement. We start conservatively and build gradually — you'll look refreshed, not 'done.'

Peptide Therapy

Are peptides safe?

When prescribed and monitored by a qualified practitioner, peptide therapy is generally well-tolerated. All our protocols are medically supervised.

How are peptides administered?

Depending on the peptide, protocols may use subcutaneous injections, oral formulations, or topical delivery. We'll guide you through the process.

How long until I notice results?

Many patients notice improvements in sleep and recovery within weeks; body composition and longevity benefits build over months of consistent use.

Red Light Therapy

What does red light therapy feel like?

It's painless and relaxing. You'll feel gentle warmth and bright light. Most patients find sessions calming and restorative.

How often should I do it?

For general wellness, 2–3 sessions weekly is ideal. For recovery or skin goals, we'll recommend a tailored frequency.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes — red light pairs beautifully with massage, IV therapy, and body contouring to amplify results.

Hormone Optimization

Is hormone optimization safe?

Under medical supervision with proper lab monitoring, hormone optimization is safe and effective. We use bioidentical hormones and tailor every protocol to you.

How long until I feel better?

Many patients notice improvements in energy and mood within a few weeks, with full benefits developing over 3–6 months.

Is this only for older adults?

No. While age-related decline is common, hormone imbalances can affect adults of many ages. Lab work will guide whether optimization is right for you.

Sports Practice Energy IV Drips

How is an IV drip different from taking vitamins?

IV therapy delivers nutrients directly into your bloodstream for near-100% absorption, bypassing the digestive system for faster, more potent effects.

How long does a session take?

Most drips take 30–45 minutes. You can relax, read, or unwind in our lounge during treatment.

How often should I get an IV drip?

For athletes, weekly during intense training cycles works well. For general wellness, bi-weekly or monthly sessions are common. We'll tailor a plan to you.

Mental Health — Ketamine Therapy

Is ketamine therapy safe?

When administered and monitored by qualified medical professionals, ketamine therapy has a strong safety profile. Every patient is carefully screened before treatment.

How quickly does it work?

Many patients experience relief within hours to days of the first treatment — much faster than traditional antidepressants.

How many sessions will I need?

A typical course is 6 sessions over 2–3 weeks, followed by maintenance as needed. Your plan is personalized based on your response.
